3 Stalks Of Asparagus With Dinner

Food and its nutrients can have a big impact on our moods. Asparagus, a member of the lily family, is chock full of fiber and vitamins, including A, B6, C, potassium, thiamin and folic acid. The folate (a B vitamin) in asparagus helps to lift bad moods which may be caused by the neurotoxic effects of the amino acid homocysteine, released by the body under stress. Homocysteine is broken down by folate. Asparagus is also high in the antioxidant enzyme glutathione, which elevates liver function. Add three stalks of asparagus to dinner for five days this week and give your body and mind a treat.
